In conjunction with the third term school holiday, Times Square held nine days of fun and games during the 10th Mini Carnival from 10th September 2016 to 18th September 2016 at Times Square’s atrium. With Pokemon as the theme, the hype of Pokemon Go made the event more happening as a lot of people were looking forward to play at the carnival itself. Games such as the balloon popper, basketball, air blower, dart game, ball toss, ring toss and Frisbee throw were opened for children to enjoy after purchasing their tickets. A lot of prizes were also redeemable for those who managed to collect certain amount of points.
Various competitions were conducted throughout the carnival such as colouring contest and Pokemon Rally Race, both held on 16th September 2016 and were organized by Best Eastern. One of the other stage activities conducted during the carnival was Samyang Noodles challenge where five contestants compete against each other to finish the famous spicy noodle, Samyang. Two cups of Samyang noodles were served for each contestant as the activities were held four times throughout the event. Winners then walked away with a cash voucher from Excapade Sushi Restaurant
Times Square also held its own colouring contest on 11th September 2016. First place went to Nur Mahirah binti Dollah. Second place was won by Nur Anisah binti Hj Dollah and the third place went to Evonne Chai Wen Ya. The consolation winners were Bahiyuddin Abqari bin Hj Dollah and Chia Xuan Lei. The prize presentation was held on the last day of the carnival where all winners brought home hampers containing Pokemon merchandises.
During the last day of the carnival, Yo-Splinter Brunei organized a Yoyo Showdown where the contestants were battling against each other to become the next top yoyo player in Brunei. Prizes were sponsored by Sugar Bun. Stage activities for kids were also held throughout the carnival such as the Musical Chairs, Find the Pokemon, quizzes and many more.
